Description
Juan Luis Vassallo Parodi was a sculptor born in Cadiz on May 2, 1908 and died in Madrid on April 18, 1986.
Son of the chiclanero painter Eduardo Vassallo Dorronzoro and of Dolores Parodi Rosas, before reaching a year he moved to Cordova where his father was professor in the School of Arts and Crafts. There he began his artistic studies without being old enough to officially register and met the sculptor Mateo Inurria, a great friend of the family.
In 1922, at the age of 14, his father moved to the School of Arts and Trades of Baeza, where he was enrolled for five years. His artistic skills began to take shape in a series of portraits, among which we can highlight a head of the old woman: La Jeroma.
