Artist's Description

Illuminated miniature of Christ enthroned in Majesty within a mandorla, surrounded by the four symbols of the Evangelists. The figure of a tonsured ecclesiastic (possibly the donor of the manuscript) is outside of the frame below Christ's feet.

Origin: Germany, S. (Würzburg diocese, Komburg? or Bamburg?)

Date: 1225 - 1249; 2nd quarter of the 13th century (before 1236?)
